Hi, Kosmos Friends!
Spring is in the air! The trees and flowers are blooming and so colorful to see!
A special "Thank You!" to Sue R. for all the planning and organizing that she did for the Spring Fling on April 11th. There were 28 members who came to socialize and enjoy the meal and had a great time. Nearly 20 stayed for games afterward. More about this event can be found later in this newsletter.
Our Memorial Day Picnic at Hood Park is on May 25th. The picnic is a great way to get out, enjoy the weather, and visit with old friends and make new acquaintenances. Do plan to attend!!! All the details are in this newsletter!
We've also got another Game Day, a Bingo Party, the Monthly Movie Matinee, plus lunch and breakfast in addition to four dinner outings this month. So you have many chances to get out and socialize with Kosmos friends during May! I hope to see you at one—or several—of our May Kosmos activities or meals!

To continue our once-a-month Game Day, we need volunteers to host them at their home or community facility. If we don't get members to volunteer, we will not be able to continue having our monthly Game Day.
If you think you could volunteer to host one month between August 2026 and July 2027, please let Sue R. or Donna W. know. This way we can compile a list of potential volunteers that we can contact to set up hosting for our next Kosmos year.
If needed, Kosmos has access to extra card tables and chairs that can be borrowed to help with setup at the host's home. A wide variety of games, and supplies such as paper plates and plasticware for the snacks and desserts brought by attendees, are provided by the Club.
Board elections will be held on July 8th. This is an opportunity for you to get involved in Kosmos by joining our Board.
Someone to step in to fill the role of Activities Leader is still needed!
The Activities Leader must have access to a computer and have computer skills. He or she will ask for a few Kosmos members to be on a committee to meet once a month, two or three weeks after the Board meeting.
The Activities Leader and Committee will plan the monthly calendar, dinner, lunch and breakfast locations, and other outings, each time planning two months in advance. Once the committee has planned the calendar for the month that they have worked on, the Activities Leader will e-mail the calendar to the other Leaders and the Coordinators five days before the next Board meeting, so they have a chance to look it over.
The Activities Leader attends our Board meetings on the first Thursday of each month. The meetings last about an hour.
PLEASE NOTE: The open position of Activities Leader is an elected position. Other members have already agreed to volunteer for the remaining five Leader roles (Treasurer, Assistant Leader, Secretary, Membership, and Newsletter) for the 2026-2027 Kosmos year.
However, if you have an interest in filling any one of those elected Leader roles, you are certainly welcome to run for election!
Please contact Leader Donna W. if you are interested in doing so! Contact her by phone or by E-mail.
Sue R. put together the Easter gift baskets, with names drawn for 10 lucky winners. Sue also purchased the delicious ham, cake, and table candles and decor. She made a mad dash to the Spring Fling before dealing with a family medical emergency that morning.
Bev B. and Gloria E. then set up everything for the event and cooked the ham. Twenty-eight members attended and 19 stayed for the games. Thank you to all the members who helped with the cleanup, which was very much appreciated!
