Hi, Kosmos Friends!
June is a busy month! We have a TGIF at the Pasco Eagles on June 12th. A play at the Richland Players Theater is planned for June 14th. There are also five dinners and a breakfast scheduled, plus the monthly Movie Matinee, along with Game Day and a Bunko Party.
Please try to attend some of these events, as they're a great opportunity to get to know your Kosmos friends and to have a great time.
Keep your calendar and newsletter close by so that you don't miss out on anything! Other local events are listed in this newsletter, too!
Our Club has two open positions, one of which is the Activities Leader, which needs to be filled by—or at—our July 8 elections. The other is a Game Day Coordinator position we need to fill by the end of July. Please read this newsletter regarding these positions and consider helping our Club out. It would be greatly appreciated!
I look forward to seeing you this month at some of our activities and meals!!!

Senior Ticket Price: $20
Arsenic and Old Lace is a classic dark comedy about the only thing more deadly than poison: family!
Drama critic Mortimer Brewster's engagement announcement is upended when he discovers a corpse in his elderly aunt's window seat. Mortimer rushes to tell Abby and Martha before they stumble upon the body themselves, only to learn that the two old women aren't just aware of the dead man in their parlor—they killed him!
Between his aunt's penchant for poisoning wine, a brother who thinks he's Teddy Roosevelt, and another brother using plastic surgery to hide from the police—not to mention Mortimer's own hesitancy about marriage—it'll be a miracle if Mortimer makes it to his wedding.
This amusing Richland Players production promises to make for a fun Sunday afternoon! We hope you'll join us!
Please RSVP to Donna W. by Friday, June 5, so that she can get your money to purchase the tickets to enable us to sit together.
If you have any questions, please call or text Donna (you can leave a message on her answering machine).
We extend a warm welcome to our new member of the Kosmos family:

We also welcome back a returning member:

On July 8, we will hold elections for the seven leadership positions on the Kosmos Board for the 2026-2027 Kosmos fiscal year. However, someone is still needed to step in to fill the role of Activities Leader!
As usual, elections will be held on the same day as our monthly happy hour and dinner at the SportsPage. We encourage as many members as possible to attend and participate in your Club by voting.
Our nominees to be elected as Leaders are:
| Leader: | Donna W. |
| Assistant Leader: | Marsha H. |
| Secretary | Sue R. |
| Treasurer | Claudia T. |
| Membership | Sandy R. |
| Activities | OPEN |
| Newsletter | Sharon G. |
If you have an interest in filling any of the above elected roles, you are certainly welcome to run for election! Meanwhile, here's more about the Activities position:
The Activities Leader heads up planning for our Labor Day Picnic, Fall Frolic, Christmas Party, Super Bowl Party, Saint Patrick's Day Party, Spring Fling, and Memorial Day Picnic, as well as other monthly events and breakfast, lunch, or happy-hour meal outings.
The Activities Leader attends our Board meetings on the first Thursday of each month. He or she must have access to a computer and have computer skills, and will normally ask for a few Kosmos members to be on a committee to meet once a month two or three weeks after the Board meeting.
Each month, the Activities Leader (and committee) will be planning two months in advance. Once the committee has decided the events for a month, the Activities Leader creates a calendar showing all the proposed events and functions planned. They then e-mail it to the other Leaders and Coordinators several days before the next Board meeting, so they can look it over.
Please contact Leader Donna W. if you could help by serving as the Activities Leader! Contact Donna W. by phone or by E-mail.
In addition to the seven elected Leaders, Kosmos has several other members who are appointed as Coordinators to take charge of various aspects of running the Club.
These include Sunshine (sending get-well and sympathy cards to members as needed), Supplies, Newsletter and E-mailing, Website (and the online version of the Newsletter), Facebook, and Calling (to notify members who do not use e-mail of any monthly event changes and of the monthly movie matinee choice).
Here, too, we have just one position that needs to be filled. We desperately need a new Game Day Coordinator to oversee Game Days, starting this August. This role involves getting other members to host a Game Day at their home, plus calling the Richland Library to reserve conference room A or B for Bingo or Bunko, which are also scheduled monthly.
Game Day is scheduled once a month, usually on a Saturday. Game Day is normally held at a Kosmos member's home or their community clubhouse when we have someone willing to serve as host/hostess. If that isn't feasible for a given month, then a Game Day can be scheduled at the Richland Library.
In addition to a monthly Game Day, monthly Bingo and Bunko Parties are held on alternating months on a Saturday at the Richland Library. (Occasionally, the conference rooms are not available on a Saturday, so another day during the week is chosen.)
The Game Day Coordinator's role also involves storing two plastic tote boxes. One holds all the games Kosmos owns and the other contains paper plates, napkins, plasticware and utensils to have on hand for these events. The Coordinator brings the totes to the Library for Bingo and Bunko and to the hosting member's home for regular Game Days. When supplies run low, the Game Day Coordinator contacts our Supplies Coordinator to get more items.
Whoever volunteers for this position will get training from the members who have been overseeing Game Days and Bingo and Bunko for the past couple of years.
If you're interested in helping with scheduling, overseeing, or even just hosting Game Days, please contact Donna W. or Sue R.
