LEADER'S MESSAGE

Hi Kosmos Members!

Christmas is such a festive time! There are many things I love about this holiday...seeing all the yard and town decorations, holiday parties with friends and family, craft shows and bazaars, sleigh rides, winter walks, and Christmas cards from friends and family.

It is also an opportunity to pause and give thanks for the love, hope, and joy found in our spiritual reflections. I hope what makes Christmas special for you comes your way. If you are traveling, safe journey.

Our Christmas Party can give you a chance to see your Kosmos friends and enjoy a holiday meal together. You may also come away with a Christmas ornament or win one of the drawings for gift cards or centerpieces!

KOSMOS BOARD MEETING

All members are welcome to attend Board Meetings, so please join us if you can! You can come for lunch and/or just the meeting!

The Kosmos Annual Christmas Party, this year at the Hampton Inn at 486 Bradley Blvd., in Richland, promises to be a fun afternoon! Come and join other members and friends for some holiday socializing and a good meal!

Tickets must be purchased by Monday, December 2nd.

There will be both restaurant and movie gift-card door prizes, Christmas ornaments for those participating in the Social Hour trivia, and poinsettia centerpieces to win!

Appetizers served during the Social Hour, from 1 to 2 PM, will include an assortment of veggies, cheeses, and crackers.

Sodas, regular & decaf coffee, and iced tea will also be provided.

The Christmas Dinner menu, served between 2 and 4 PM, includes sliced turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, dressing, cranberry sauce, green beans, and rolls. Cake will be served for dessert.

Kosmos member's tickets are $25, and guest tickets are $30.

If you haven't already purchased your tickets, do so NOW from either Sue R. or Donna W.

Welcome again, Kosmos football fans! Bring your favorite snack and beverage, and cheer our Seattle Seahawks on as we watch the game together.

The football party will again be at Sue R.'s apartment complex Recreation Room. Sue asks that you get there by 12:30 so that everyone can get settled prior to game time at 1:05 PM.

   

ACTIVITY PLANNING MEETING

You need not be a Board Member to attend any of our Activity Planning Meetings! We welcome you to come and bring your ideas for things to do, events to participate in, or places to eat. We're always looking for fresh ideas!!!

Directions: Take Highway 395 to Hildebrand Blvd., turning right if coming from the north (turning left if coming from I-82 to reach 395). Just past the second traffic light, at Southridge Blvd., take the first left into Affinity (across from St. Dawes St.). Park anywhere in the parking lot (space numbers can be ignored). Go in through the main front doors, turn right, and Kosmos members will be meeting with Activities Leader Carolyn W. around a table near the lobby's kitchenette area.

Another hockey game at the Toyota Center is available for Kosmos members, with awesome behind-the-goal seats, thanks to Activities Leader Carolyn W., our rabid Ams fan and season-ticket holder!

Ticket cost could be as low as $17, if 10 or more tickets are purchased, to see the Tri-City Americans face off against the Portland Winterhawks. Doors open at 5:05 PM. Food concessions are plentiful there.

You must RSVP and give your money to Carolyn by Tuesday, December 17. Please call her to arrange to pay for and to get your tickets.

MEMBERSHIP DRIVE: NANCY T. WON THE PRIZE!

Nancy T. won a Starbucks gift card for recruiting the most new members during the month of October. Thanks for recruiting new members, and congratulations, Nancy!

OTHER DECEMBER EVENTS TO GO TO WITH KOSMOS FRIENDS

Senske Holiday Light Show, 400 N. Quay Street, Kennewick. A spectacular animated and musical lights extravaganza running every night in December, 5 PM to midnight.

Clover Island Yacht Club Lighted Boat Parade, on the Columbia River. December 6 & 7, 6 to 9 PM.

WELCOME IN THE NEW YEAR AT OUR GAME DAY ON THE 4TH OF JANUARY

One of our newest members, Anna Mae S., is hosting the January Game Day at her home. Please bring finger food or a dessert to share with others, plus your own beverage. A wide variety of games are available—or bring one of your favorites to enjoy with other members.
